February 24th - High School Ripped Me A New One — The Soundtrack...
Hello to all the Ripped fans out there. We got some great feedback from friends and fans of the film the past few months, and the thing everyone asks about is when we’re planning to get the soundtrack together. Well, hell yes, we’re excited to let you all know that the time has finally come for a complete soundtrack.
It’s going to be a sweet mix of Jazz, reggae and hip-hop, a combination of the great songs in the film itself, along with some incredible songs that fit perfectly with the vibe of the movie. The final songs are being chosen and recorded as I type this. Well not literally, but it is happening very soon.
All updates about the soundtrack will be posted on the site as usual, and it’s been amazing to get your wonderful comments, emails and calls. Thanks for spreading the word.

June 17th – Southern Hospitality at its finest and the New York International Film Festival…
New York International Independent Film Festival
Thursday, May 11th 2006. We screened at 8pm on a warm and foggy New York night. Thanks to all who came out to the screening for our NY film festival premiere! It was screened at a great venue, with a great crowd in the East Village of Manhattan. What else is there to say?
It was perfect.
Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival
Wow…That’s the only thing that comes to mind right now. The Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival in Atlanta was an amazing experience. Thank you so much Mark and Kiyomi for letting High School Ripped Me A New One be a part of the festival. Everyone single person I met at the festival could not have been more friendly, supportive, and just plain fun.
The screening for High School Ripped Me A New One went great. There were all new faces in the audience, which is always great to have! And once again, the laughs came at unexpected times during the film! I loved it. I also watched some great films. The reggae doc Livicated, Traci Townsend, and the oldschool classic the Harder They Come with Jimmy Cliff is also screening at film festivals now! Definitely check these films out if you get a chance.
Atlanta was unbelievably beautiful. You can’t beat a southern springtime. I spent most of the time in Decatur, and made frequent trips to little Five Points and also downtown Atlanta. People we’re always waving, smiling, and saying “hi”. Some of the best conversations I had we’re talking to people on the street.
And holy christ, the food was amazing. There was New Orleans and Cajun food, pure authentic southern food, and lots of nouveau American places that could easily compete with the best New York restaurants. And all the folks down south can drink! I mean, I can put down some drinks, but I was being out-drunk by 65 year old ladies pounding beer and tequila at noon. I loved every second of it. There is nothing better than a warm, breezy, 77 degree Georgia day with good food, drinks and friends. Thanks for the opportunity Spaghetti Junction.

April, 10th – Sweet Daylights Savings Time I love you …
I don’t care if you are a New Yorker, a Texan, or even an Eskimo. When sweet daylights savings time comes around, everyone is in a better mood. People are outside later at night drinking, dining and partying. People are smiling more, the weather is warmer, and everyone can put their shitty winter clothes under the bed. I love it.
I guess I’ll get back to talking about the film now. But it is hard, because I can’t stop thinking about how light it is outside right now at 7pm. It’s magnificent. We are getting pretty close to the Spaghetti Junction Film Festival on April 21st in Georgia, and we have also been chosen to be one of the closing night films of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival on May 11th at 8pm. Luxurious. I have posted all that info on the homepage for you nosy bastards who want more information…I don’t know what that means.
And lastly but not least, I just wanted to give a big ‘thank you” to everyone who continues to support this film through thick and thin. You guys have given this film a life of its own, and hopefully it will just get bigger and bigger. And we will all have created a monster!… I don’t know what that means either. Wow, what a weirdo I am today. Anyway, thanks for the support, and I’ll see you guys at the festivals! Peace.

January 23rd - Hello Atlanta, Georgia….
We just got accepted to the Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia! High School Ripped Me A Hew One is going to be screening in the dirty south! Hot. I am definitely excited to screen in the ATL, and I will keep more info about it posted here on the website.
What is new with all you guys out there? It’s still ass cold here in New York. We had a nice weather week from the 11th to the 16th, but now it is back to artic chill. I saw my first live polar bear on 34th street. What is that smell in the 34th street and 8th ave subway station? It’s not the polar bear. I know because I asked him.
I am doing some final rewrites on Sex, Drugs and Jazz. It should be pretty complete by the end of January. But we’ll see… The website will be up for Sex, Drugs and Jazz by February. We are gonna have some sweet stuff on the site, and some interconnecting between the Sex, Drugs and Jazz site and this one.
Sorry I have to get personal here, but for all that is holy and pure, will you damn people start watching Arrested Development!? I implore you. It us the funniest fuckin’ show on TV, and it might get cancelled. Jesus tap dancing Christ. Talk to you soon. One love.

November 25th - Another damn dirty cold NY winter is here….
Hello all. I write to you again to check in with the latest shit that is going on. First things off, I haven’t posted anything since our NY screening of the film. In short, there was a great vibe at the screening, and folks were digging the film. And the NY crowd laughed at completely different jokes than the SF folks did. It was funny as all hell. Anyway, I put up a couple of pix from the after party at the screening. Much thanks to everyone who came out and supported the film.
To add to the list of good happenings with the film….We just hooked up with ITN distribution, and now the film will be at some great film markets over the next year. Thanks Renata, Shorty, and Stewart for the support.
What else is going on…Oh yes, we got a sweet review on FilmThreat.com. Check it out if you get bored today, or perhaps tomorrow at work. When at some point you will be so extremely bored and say to yourself, I guess I’ll read that damn review of High School Ripped Me A New One. What else have I got to do?
We’re also going to start selling the film directly from our website here, so folks can buy it for their home viewing pleasure. I watch the movie at least 14 times a day, six days a week, so I figure there is a big market out there for it. I’ll try to get it up for sale on the site by the beginning of December.
As I have entitled this gibberish Another Damn Dirty Cold NY Winter, let me now reflect on how miserable and depressed people get here in New York when winter is around the corner. There’s the monster size jacket, the gloves, the scarves, the long underwear, the hats, and also getting your sled dogs back in shape. Brutal. It is only my second New York winter and I don’t know how many more I can do. Seriously. I’ve realized that I really am a fish taco eating, beach barbequeing, birkinstock wearing, Syrah drinking, book reading California boy. The weather in LA at this moment is 82 degrees. San Francisco is 73…Magical… New York is damn beautiful in the fall though. Peace.

July 20th - Holy crap the New York premiere is here…
Man. It feels like I was just in San Francisco….Drunk, excited, happy, getting touched inappropriately in the Castro, and basically enjoying the world premiere of my film in my hometown. Much love to SF. If you have the means, I highly recommend visiting. But now it’s New York’s turn, and this screening is going to be out of control! This thing is going to be crazier than Katie Holmes. What the hell happened to that girl?…Seriously, what is wrong with her?
The screening will have its New York premiere at ArtsInda (www.artsindia.com) at 8pm Friday July 22nd. It’s a beautiful art gallery over looking Madison Square Park. There will also be a reception at 7:30pm before the screening. But I swear to God, if someone slips a Mickey in my champagne again, I will surely snap…Actually that was a pretty good night. Thanks for the Mickey.
After the screening, walk your ass two blocks north to the Gershwin Hotel for merriment, debauchery, and good times. Two of the best bands in New York will be playing…The Point Six (www.thepointsix.com - although the website hasn’t been updated since 1987) will start the party out playing at 10:30pm, followed by OrdinaryK (www.ordinaryk.com) at 11:30pm. Hell yeah.
So keep the shots coming and champagne flowing. The New York premiere is here.

July 5th - The San Francisco Black Film Festival
was the jam
Sorry I haven’t posted updates in a little bit. I needed a short break after the SFBFF premiere. And also my usual laziness kicked in. The premiere was great! I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Everyone came out. Family, friends, cast and crew, people I haven’t seen in years, and a lot of new folks too. People were laughing their asses off at the screening! The best part for me was that I could here chuckles in the theatre long after a joke had ended. Wonderful. Thanks Ave.
We threw the after party in the Penthouse Suite on the 31st floor of the Westin St. Francis, whose staff could not have been more rude. Thanks assholes. But other than that, it was a great party. The screening was at noon, so we started the party at 2pm and went ‘til about 2am. A 12 hour after party? Yep… You know how we do. I think we had a couple folks spewing up at the end of the night outside, which is always the sign of a good party.
The rest of the festival week I had as much food and wine as possible. Thank you San Francisco for 1550, Havana, Zarzuela and the Ferry Building… When I got back to NY, all the weather reports said it was one of the hottest days in years. I flew in to JFK at 8am and it was 97 degrees at 8am. Brutal. I think NY had a record number of injuries too from people slipping and falling in pools of there own sweat. I’m used to pools of urine on New York streets, but when you add sweat puddles too, it gets pretty dangerous.
Well I am going to do some more work getting all the details of the New York premiere together. It’s going to be hot.

NEWS! March 28th 2005
Hello everyone! My first feature film High School Ripped Me A New One is finally
finished! After many years of hard work it's ready to be watched! Film historians and
critics take note, High School Ripped Me A New One is here! And I’ve already used too
many exclamation points! I’ve just started applying to film festivals all over the place.
Some bigger festivals, and some smaller festivals. And we’ll now be going against the big
boys with our little movie, but hopefully we will find some festivals that will love the film!
This is the official site for the film. This is where you will be able to get all the information for High School Ripped Me A New One. Where the premier will be, where screenings will be, and any other good and bad news. There also a crapload of fun on the site, make sure to check out the trailer and some of the behind the scenes footage.
We’re planning a big Bay Area screening (in Wine Country or San Francisco) for everyone involved in the film. So check the site for updates on that. Thank you so much to all who helped make this movie happen! This movie would not be what it is without the many people who went above and beyond what was expected.
I'll be relocating to New York for a year or two while I start this festival phase of this film and also begin work on my next film Sex, Drugs, and Jazz. Once again, thank you everyone for your help and support over these last couple of years. The movie would never have been completed without you. - Cameron
